Gilroy Mustangs

The 2014 prep football season is less than two months away and the Gilroy-area high schools are gearing up.
The season kicks off Sept. 5 when both Gilroy and Christopher will face off against teams from Morgan Hill. The Mustangs will play at Live Oak at 7 p.m., while the Cougars play their first game on their new field against Sobrato at 7:30 p.m..
Gilroy will begin Monterey Bay League Pacific Division play at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 3 at Watsonville. Christopher will start league play—also against the Wildcatz—at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 10 at home.
The fifth annual Severance Bowl will cap off the regular season at 7:30 p.m. November 14 at Gilroy. Christopher won last year’s crosstown showdown 43-14, putting the series at 3-1 in the Cougars’ favor.
