PREP ROUNDUP: CHS volleyball upends GHS

Phillip Castro had 36 assists as Christopher High’s boys volleyball team rolled to a 25-22, 23-25, 25-7, 25-13 win at Alisal on Thursday.

The Cougars improved to 7-4 in the Monterey Bay League.

BASEBALL

San Benito scored five runs in the top of the third inning on its way to an 11-2 win at Christopher on Thursday.

Brennan Wilson and Travis Sammons each knocked in a run for the Cougars, and teammate Kevin Willard was 1-for-3 with a double. Pat Valdez and Tyler Fhurong scored for Christopher.

SOFTBALL

San Benito High’s softball team dealt visiting Gilroy a 5-0 loss Thursday.

Christopher’s softball game against Salinas at the Salinas Sports Complex was postponed to next Friday.
