Gilroy Mustangs

Gilroy’s game against Harbor can be summed up in one word: Dominate.
The Mustangs powered past Harbor 11-0 in the second round of the Oak Grove Gold Cup – Gold Division Tuesday at home.
Andres Jimenez led the offense with four goals — three of which were unassisted. He scored two of Gilroy’s five first half goals. 
Emmanuel Cruz scored two goals for Gilroy, while Gaspar Figueroa, Alejandro Flores, Jonathan Campozano, Jordan Juarez and Marc Rivera each added one. Figueroa also had an assist. Carlos Jimenez had two assists and Jesus Vasquez had one in the game. 
The undefeated Mustangs (3-0) will face the Los Gatos in the final round of the Gold Cup at 3 p.m. Saturday at Oak Grove. 
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Cougars pick up first win against King City
That’s more like it.
The Christopher girls basketball team notched its first win of the year, topping King City 60-28 at home Tuesday. 
The Cougars jumped out to a dominate 22-6 lead after the first quarter and held King City to single-digit scores until the fourth where the visitors scored 10 points.
Cydney Caradonna led the team with 18 points. Christa Arroyo added 14 and Ally Foster scored 10.

The JV squad (1-1) also picked up its first win of the season, topping its King City counterparts 52-31. 
 
The CHS JV team will play in the Notre Dame Salinas JV Tournament which kicks off at 4 p.m. Thursday and runs through Saturday.
 
The varsity squad will play in the Watsonville Tournament, which starts at 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday.
 
BOYS BASKETBALL
 
Mustangs top Hawks
 
The Gilroy boys basketball team was looking to rebound after a a 1-2 showing at the Aptos Tournament last weekend.
 
The team came out with a vengeance, topping Anzar 62-34 on the road Tuesday.
 
Travis Moulden led the Mustangs with 22 points in the game. 
 
Gilroy (2-2) will be back at it at 1 p.m. today a Overfelt High School in Oakland. 
 
GIRLS SOCCER
 
Cougars continue to roll
 
The Christopher girls soccer team is on a hot streak and shows no signs of cooling down.
 
The Cougars picked up their third straight ‘W’, a 6-0 win over North Salinas on the road Tuesday. 
 
Stats from this game were not immediately available.
 
Christopher (3-0) will host Everett Alvarez (2-1-1) at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
