VOLLEYBALL
Gilroy loses in four to Alisal

Varsity lost in 4 games:  18-25    25-27   25-23  and 23-25

Gilroy kept things close with Alisal, but eventually fell Thursday on the road.

The Mustangs lost 18-25, 25-27, 25-23, 23-25. Leilani Mah led the team with 10 kills, five blocks and three aces and was complemented by Jenna Clonts who added eight kills and eight blocks.

Bailie Erickson, Alexis Conley, Clarissa Quezada and Gabby Martinez gave Alisal offensive a tough time with their consistent passing.

“Their were several key missed serves in the second and fourth games which could have helped swing the momentum for us and possibly changed the outcome of the match,” GHS coach Elaine Price said. “In games that are so close, point for point,  serving needs to be the teams first offensive attack or it becomes a momentum killer that the team needs to overcome.”

Gilroy will be back on the court at 5 p.m. Tuesday vs. North Monterey County.
