GILROY—Katelyn Viray knocked down 15 kills, lifting the Cougars to a 3-0 win over Monterey Thursday on the road. Viray also had 16 digs and an ace.
Christopher won 25-23, 25-23, 25-17 over the Toreadors. Samantha Dolan and Grace Gundy added eight kills for the Cougars.
Jackie Pantane led the Cougars in digs with 20. Christa Arroyo tied everything together with 36 assists.
Christopher (16-8 overall, 6-4 in league) will be back in action at 6:30 p.m. when it hosts Monte Vista Christian for Senior Night.
Mustangs swept by Seaside
Gilroy lost to Seaside in straight sets 25-20, 25-14, 25-18 on the road Thursday.

GIRLS TENNIS
Mustangs fall to Monterey in regular season finale
Gilroy fell 5-2 to Monterey on the road Thursday, closing out the regular season for the Mustangs. They finish with a 3-8 overall record.
Gilroy’s stellar No. 1 doubles team of Nicole Holder and Savanna Brandon won their match 7-6, 6-0 over their Toreador opponents. The duo finishes with an season record of 9-1.
Sofia Magana and Daniela Castillo, the No. 3 team, played into the dark but pulled out a win for Gilroy. They won 7-5, 7-6 over Monterey.
The No. 2s, Maggie Pickford and Kaitlyn Carvalho, fell just short in their loss by a score of 6-1, 7-5.
Brea Martin, Didi Bakita and Catherine Bell, the No.1, 2 and 3 singles, respectively, all lost by scores of 6-0, 6-0. Gilroy dropped the No. 4 match by default.
The top two singles players and doubles teams will play in the Monterey Bay League Championships, which kick off at 11 a.m. Nov. 2.
