Christopher's Olivia Tabron digs for the bump during their game against San Benito September 2.

GILROY—Last year, Christopher’s Olivia Tabron was snubbed of a First Team honor and made it her goal not to let it happen again.
On Monday, Tabron crossed that goal off her list.
The senior outside hitter was the lone area volleyball player to be named First Team All-League in either division. Tabron receives the honor in the perennially tough Gabilan Division, which includes Notre Dame and San Benito. She consistently led the Cougars on offense each night and finished with 272 kills this season, according to MBayPreps.com.
Christa Arroyo, junior setter, racked up 667 assists this season and earned a Second Team All-League honor for it. Teammate Audrey Zitnay rounded out Christopher’s awards and was named to the “Pursuing Victory with Honor” team.
Gilroy’s Sarah Weiby and Gabby Martinez, both outside hitters, received Second Team All-League nods in the Pacific Division. Weiby was also named to the “Pursuing Victory with Honor” team.
