Gilroy – Pro Electric upset Bad News 14-10 Monday to leave a four-team tie for first place atop the Men’s C League at Las Animas Park.

The Electricians struck for six runs in the first inning and never trailed, using home runs from Chando Acevedo, Mike Sandoval and Julian Castaneda to improve to 2-1 in the second half of the Gilroy Community Services Department adult softball program.

Mario Silva and Ruben Lujan Jr. each went 4-for-4 for 2-1 Bad News. Ruben Lujan Sr. went 3-for-3 with a sacrifice fly while plating three Bad News runs.

Phil Lerma went 3-for-3 and Jerry Ventura singled and doubled to lead 2-1 Keading Performance to an 11-7 decision over BM Construction. Daniel Vasquez stroked a home run, double and single for BM Construction.

Josh Torres homered to cap a five-run sixth inning as Keller Heating (2-1) topped the Platinum Roofing Slammers 10-7. Noe DeLaTorre lined a two-run home run and Joe Duran offered three singles for the Slammers, the first-half CC champion.

Men’s CCC

The Desperados moved to 3-0 atop the Men’s CCC League by outlasting Gamers In Control 16-10 Monday at Christmas Hill Park.

The Desperados closed out the victory with nine runs in the sixth inning, highlighted by a three-run double from Dennis Barroza. Phil Clark led the Desperados offense with three hits. Nathan Avila homered and Manuel Rivera collected three hits for the Gamers, the first-half D champion.

The Cali Boys gained second place at 2-0 with a 22-14 win over Campbell’s Towing.

David Rodriguez, Adam Solis, Sammy Rosales and Alex Gonzalez each provided three hits to the Cali Boys effort. Lance Hedrick led the Campbell’s attack with a triple and two singles.

Bracco’s Towing gained third place at 2-1 with a 15-5 nod over Chris Costello Electric.

Danny Rubalcava hit two home runs and Guillermo Lopez went 4-for-4 for Bracco’s Towing. Tony Arce and Dennis Sanchez hit home runs for Chris Costello Electric.

Men’s D

Los Pistoleros gained sole possession of first place in the Men’s D League second half Friday with a 9-3 decision over the VFW Vets at Christmas Hill Park.

Rick Trujillo lashed a triple and two singles, Eddie Flores three singles worth two RBI as Los Pistoleros moved to 2-0. Freddy Espinosa homered and Jay Contreras doubled and singled for the VFW Vets (1-1).

Dave Newton plated four runs with three singles and a sacrifice fly to lift Pizza N’ Stuff past Dr. Tile 15-13. Jordan Newton scored three Pizza N’ Stuff runs. Dave Keim Jr. cracked a triple, double and single for Dr. Tile.

2NQ outlasted Team Hair FX 14-6 as Rick Krogen went 6-for-6 and scored four runs. Ryan Kerns added a home run and two singles to the 2NQ cause. Moses Caballero doubled and singled, scoring twice for Team Hair FX.

Co-Rec C

The Icy Hots edged Morgan Hill Bowl 15-14 to move to 3-0 atop the Co-Rec C League Sunday at Las Animas Park. The Big Kahunas also hit 3-0 with a forfeit win over Lights Out.

Tim Adams hit a two-run double, his fourth hit of the game, in a four-run seventh inning as Icy Hots secured the victory. John Day went 4-for-5 and scored four Icy Hot runs. Tiffany McIntosh paced Morgan Hill Bowl with a triple, double and two singles.

Derek Orca powered two home runs and Cody Wilson added a grand slam as Chili’s defeated Gamers In Control 22-14. A J. Martinez went 4-for-4 with a home run and Nicole Villarreal went 3-for-3 for Gamers In Control.

Mike Lopez and Mike Mitchell each went 4-for-5 as South County Rockery defeated Team Hair FX 16-8. Kenny Gordon doubled and singled for Team Hair FX.

Co-Rec B

Jennie’s Crew trimmed Out To Play 12-5 Sunday in Co-Rec B action at Christmas Hill Park. Gil Barry homered and Mike Hernandez went 3-for-3 as Jennie’s Crew joined Pacific Coast Bail Bonds and Cary O’Neal Roofing-Greenwood Chevrolet at 2-1 atop the six-team league.

DS Builders advanced to 2-0 atop the Men’s BB League Friday with a 9-6 win over Czar Construction. Greg Lucio completed the DS scoring with a two-run homer in the sixth. Eric Tollison and Curt Simmons each stroked three DS hits. Robert Silvia collected three hits for Czar.

George Salgado Jr. hit two home runs as Jus 2 Party topped Dutchman’s Pizza 26-3. Ryan Dequin went 3-for-3 and scored four Party runs. Gabe Duenas lined a three-run homer for Dutchman’s.

Gino Martinez homered twice as Team Talamo defeated Interstate Fence-Dee’z Nutz 15-4. K. C. Adams homered and Sean Subia went 3-for-3 for the losers.
