Dear Editor,

I don’t know David Kaeini, so I give him the benefit of the doubt that he did not purposefully mislead Dispatch readers in his letter Thursday. His statement that “For the past two years, Senate Democrats have engaged in filibusters to prevent the Senate from voting on President Bush’s nominees'” gives a false impression.

Senate Democrats are fighting 10 of Bush’s judicial nominees. That’s 10 out of 229 since he took office. That’s 10 compared to the 60 that Senate Republicans prevented from even getting a Committee hearing during President Clinton’s terms.
