Dear Editor,
While you continue to publish out of state letters from “veterans” who continue to desperately bash John Kerry, a man who volunteered and served this nation with dignity – you continue to NOT report on George W. Bush’s AWOL record during the same conflict, yet evidence does finally exist that he couldn’t even handle Guard duty in Alabama and not a single one of his co-airmen can be found … His commander can’t even say for sure he showed up, yet your paper insists in remaining silent- but you allow Sen. John Kerry to be bashed far and wide.
This is more evidence that the media in this country is happy with the way things are and intends to do all it can to keep the status quo as is.
Does Vietnam service matter? Yes. In times of war this country needs leaders who know the real cost, not leaders who favor rising costs to fatten up their already blood-soaked and bloated friends in the defense industry, like the Carlyle Group and Halliburton.
It makes me sick that a privileged rich guy like Bush got to sit home and work on a campaign, as did Dick Cheney, while your paper continues to hide the facts from the people lest it be branded “un- American.”
Not reporting truth is un-American. John Kerry is a war hero – what he did as a young man, things he may have said, were things he did as a young man. You gave Bush a pass on his drug use and alcoholism, why are you insisting on crucifying Kerry for youthful indiscretions?
