Frankie Tomasetti poured in 18 points as co-leader Hard Ninety outlasted the Hawks, 62-51 in Men’s DD Basketball League play Wednesday at Solorsano Gym.
Mark Cisneros and Tony Travis each added 14 points as Hard Ninety moved to 6-1 with three games left in the regular season.
Hard Ninety built a 27-21 halftime lead, keyed by four field goals from Cisneros.
Sig Reynisson contributed eight of his 10 points in the second half for Hard Ninety. David Schindler notched 14 points, Marshad Johnson 12 and Hans Mendezona nine for the 4-3 Hawks.
District 5 also reached 6-1 with a 59-51 victory over the Spartans.
Justin Nicholson keyed the District 5 offense with a 31-point outburst. Nicholson managed 14 points in the first 20 minutes as District 5 took a 28-16 lead into intermission.
Drew Pearson and Eric Tollison aided the District 5 cause with 10 points each. Jared Van Lehn’s six 3-pointers left him tops among Spartan scorers with 18 points. Jordan Miller connected for 13 points, Thomas Doak 11 for the Spartans.
Recology improved to 3-4 with a 56-49 win over Free Range Laphog.
Recology erased a 22-21 halftime deficit behind an eight-point effort from Romeo Travis.
Devan Owens scored 12 points to pace the Recology offense. Rob Silvia, Chris Taylor and Travis each added 10 points for Recology. Nick Langone scored his 12 Laphog points in the second half. LaMont Chappell produced 11 points, Matt Goshia nine for the losers.
