GILROY—The Bash Brothers moved to 2-0 atop the Wednesday Men’s Fall E Softball League with a 17-8 nod over the Expos at Las Animas Veterans Park.
The Expos (1-1) surged to a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the first inning with a five-run rally, sparked by a Jordan Holler home run and two-run single from Tyler Price.
The Bash Brothers regained the lead at 8-6 in the third on a run-scoring double from Josh Badillo. Kyle Doughty added a two-run triple in the Bash half of the fourth frame. Tyler Osbourne hit a three-run home run for the winners in the sixth inning. Daniel Valdez went 3 for 3 for the Expos.
Reggie Stanley drove in five runs with a home run and three singles as the Blacktop Bombers outlasted the Sons of Pitches 19-7. Gus Lazrovich added a grand slam for the Bombers. Jesse McGraw went 3 for 3 for the Pitches.
Joel Gaeta and Victor Rodriguez hit three-run home runs to help the Borrachos past Next Level Softball 16-5. Chris Mazzulla and Christopher Hernandez hit consecutive homers for Level.
Thursday EE
ACT reached 2-0 by defeating New Hope Community Church 17-6 Thursday at Las Animas Park.
Danny Hinojosa highlighted the ACT offense with two doubles and a single, plating three runs. Adrian Burciaga hit the lone ACT homer. Jesus Begines ripped a three-run home run for New Hope.
Ninja Sushi joined ACT at 2-0 atop the seven-team league by topping Roger’s 22 Crew 21-13.
Luis Bobadilla collected a triple and single as Ninja Sushi scored 13 runs in the top of the first inning. Richard Rascon and Scott Mead provided Sushi home runs. John Bueno and Frankie Gomez hit Crew home runs.
Jose Hernandez drove in four runs with a home run and triple as Claddagh trimmed the Fumigators 16-6. Greg Vargas hit a two-run homer and Alonso Felix doubled and singled for the Fumigators.
Tuesday EE
HD Auto Glass earned a 14-4 win over Trevino Brothers Construction to move to 2-0 atop the six-team league at Las Animas Park.
Joel Torrez powered a home run, triple and single for the Glassmen. Jose Vasquez helped the HD cause with a solo homer and two singles. Ryan Evanger scored two runs for Trevino Brothers.
Recology (2-0) scored seven runs in the first inning on the way to a 16-1 win over Feather Haven. Kevin Allen and Donny Gooding hit homers in the rally. Allen finished with two homers, a double and six RBIs. Alex Harper plated Phillip Alosi with the Feather Haven run.
Julio Zavala roped two homers and two singles as VFW Bingo outlasted Baker Pump 19-12. Anthony Silva homered in a four-hit showing for Baker Pump.
