Claddagh Brew Crew moved to 2-0 atop the Men’s Fall E Softball League standings last Thursday with a 3-2 edging of Trevino Brothers Construction at Las Animas Park.
The Brew Crew opened the scoring in the top of the fifth inning when Rich Gallardo singled and scored n a Don Bryant double. Trevino Brothers responded in the fifth with a Mark Guajardo single and Robert Silva double. Claddagh claimed the decision with a two-run sixth as both Mike Keith and Jose Hernandez singled and scored.
The Titans also reached 2-0 by defeating Picasso’s Inc. 13-4. Ted Pickeral and Steve Welch each scored three Titan runs. Victor Rodriguez Jr. homered for Picasso’s.
VFW Bingo (1-1) topped the Good Ole Boys 26-10. Gary Tognetti went 4-for-4 with a home run and Julio Zavala added a homer and two singles for VFW Bingo. Bob Martin went 3-for-3 and Kris Puthoff scored three runs for the Good Ole Boys.
New Hope Community Church is alone atop the Men’s DD League at 2-0 after an 18-2 victory over Los Chilotes Thursday at Christmas Hill Park.
KC Adams and Clark Poulsen each homered and Jimmy Shrull stroked three doubles for New Hope. Steve Aguirre doubled home one run and scored on a Jesus Begines single for Los Chilotes.
Los Traviesos squeaked past Humboldt Brewing 6-5 when Louie Catano singled and scored on a Ralph Ortez triple in the sixth inning. Trevor Malyneaux and Catano each went 3-for-3.
Abe Burciaga hit two home runs to propel Abe’s Boys by Noah 21-6. Ryan Chasco homered and Arturo Barajas and Alex Ortiz each collected three hits for Noah.
Shawna Snakenberg singled and scored in the bottom of the eighth to give Hi-Energy Networks a 6-5 Co-Rec C win over Gilroy Vet Sunday.
Hi-Energy trailed 5-3 with two out in the seventh before four consecutive singles tied the score. Trinidad Sandoval and Jaime Ambrosio each went 3-for-4 for Gilroy Vet.
Donny Gooding hit a three-run homer and two-run double as Out 2 Play defeated Big Kahuna 14-3. Jess Alonzo stroked two doubles and scored two Kahuna runs.
Self Made Crew is 2-1 atop the Co-Rec B standings after topping Just Released 8-6. Angel Gamboa scored three runs and Willie Gamboa played five SMC runs with a homer, double and single. Neo Torres and Mario Silva each posted three hits for Just Released.
Team Rush (2-1) outlasted Blackout Window Tinting 18-9 as Gabe Hernandez homered in a 4-for-4 effort. Danny Rubio homered for Blackout.
