There is another development closer to Christopher High that is also in the planning stages. This development is the a single-family tract that is being developed by K. Hovnanian Homes and D.R. Horton.
The Gilroy Planning Commission approved a request to construct 92 single-family homes within the Dakota subdivision, the 14.3-acre area to the north and south of Sunrise Drive and east of Rancho Hill Drive.
Arcadia Homes received architectural and site review approval to develop this site in 2004 but sold this project to D.R. Horton, according to a report by the Planning Commission. The new developers propose different architectural plans for this project, but they are similar to what was previously proposed, according to the report.
The homes would be between 2,151 to 2,891 square feet and would be either one story or three stories. They would be made of stucco with stone accents.
Traffic light working fine now
“I’m the person who complained about the light not working correctly (“Can I run a red light in the morning?” Sept. 14 – on Santa Teresa Boulevard and First Street), and I expected Caltrans engineers to say nothing was wrong with it. A few days after I wrote the Gilroy Dispatch about this traffic light not working properly, it works like it’s supposed to work whether I roll my car or sit still on the light sensors. Three weeks since I wrote in about this, I use it everyday and it works great for me. Thanks Gilroy Dispatch. Fine job.”
Red Phone: Dear Light Up, We’re glad to hear the light is working correctly now. While we’d like to take credit, actually we didn’t have anything to do with it this time.
