Red Phone: Low branches need to be cut

There is an inaccuracy in the letter dated May 20 from Chief

included in our utility bills.
“There is an inaccuracy in the letter dated May 20 from Chief Turner regarding Animal Control Ordinance payments that were included in our utility bills. The letter states that police accept checks, but that is inaccurate. When my personal check was refused and I produced the original letter showing checks were accepted, the clerk handed me a corrected copy of the letter that now states only cashier’s checks are accepted. So if you are going to the police to license your dog, leave your personal checks at home as they are worthless for payment.”

Red Phone: Dear The Check’s In The Mail, You are indeed correct. Personal or business checks aren’t accepted as payments by the police. This policy isn’t just for animal licenses, but is also for any payment, said Sgt. Chad Gallacinao. Cash, credit cards, money orders and cashier checks are accepted as forms of payments, he said.

No problem here with restaurant

“I was reading the Red Phone and I saw someone was complaining about the Jack In The Box restaurant on Monterey Road. I have always had the best customer service from that Jack In The Box. My husband and I have always said this was the nicest fast food restaurant in Gilroy. They are always professional, polite and nice. This person must have made them mad because they are a wonderful fast food restaurant in Gilroy.”

Red Phone: Dear Satisfied Customer, OK, Jack will send you your free hamburger now. It is impossible to please everyone. But we’re glad to hear you’ve had positive experiences there.

Grateful for tree trimming

“Just calling to say thank you for pruning the trees overhanging the tennis courts at El Roble Park. They were pruned really well. Where they were dangerous, now the weight is off. I just wish they would fix the court. But that is for another economy.”

Red Phone: Dear Grateful Park Goer, Red Phone passed on your word of thanks to the city. It is always nice to hear a thank you now and then. Too bad the tennis courts are not as easy to fix.
