Resident Angry With CrimeThat Has Developed in Neighborhood

Dear Editor,

I am sick of the degenerates who find their way to this town to live or who live elsewhere but slither through the neighborhoods looking to steal from the locals. My family and I moved to our Crawford Drive home about four years ago.

We were pleased at our decision to move here until crime in the neighborhood found its way to our doorstep. In the past year we have had our car broken into and an outboard motor stolen from in front of our house. One of these thefts happened during the day. Several neighbors also have become victims of auto burglary.

Our once nice neighborhood has now become a target for the degenerates. I am suspicious that these people live in the neighborhood and provide a lookout for their crime partners.

A warning to all who live on Crawford Drive: There are thieves among us. Vehicle crimes that go unchecked can develop into home burglaries simply because the criminals see vulnerability and accessibility. Use extreme caution and secure everything of value.

Get car alarms, house alarms, guard dogs, etc. Do anything that would deter these snakes from any future crime sprees in our neighborhood. We can confront these lowlifes by paying attention to all who visit our neighborhood and get the police involved in any suspicious activity.

It’s Time to Stop Getting Kicked and Let Our Leaders Know How We Feel

Dear Editor,

I’m reminded of the scene in the first “Back to the Future” movie where George McFly, while between classes at high school is getting kicked by other students, unaware that a fellow student has taped a big sign on his back saying “Kick Me.”

Fade that movie scene to Gilroy politics 2007. Seems like George is representing the people of Gilroy, who have been getting “kicked” quite hard in the posterior recently, by fellow “students” like City Manager Jay Baksa, and most of the city council.

Cases in point: the fiasco with the PD-chief retirements done in secret, the goings-on with Bonfante, “Gilroy” Gardens, and now the hasty pay hikes for top city managers.

The question is: when will the “Georges” of Gilroy say enough-is-enough to the kicks in the proverbial pants of our pocketbooks? Until the citizens of Gilroy change their wimpy image and put some muscle into their displeasure of getting kicked, nothing will change.

It’s time to remove the “Kick Me” sign and start letting our leaders know how we feel.
