Born July 9, 1949, in Endicott, New York, he is a decorated 101st Airborne Combat Vietnam veteran who served two tours and earned several medals, including a Purple Heart.

After the war he became an engineer and was an automotive enthusiast. His desire was to bring peace of mind so all could find true happiness.

He is survived by is his mother, Elizabeth M. Harper; sons and daughter, Robert V. Harper, Jennifer E. Harper and Jeremy M. Fiddes; brother and sisters, Richard D. Harper, Penelope A. Carter and Janet L. Harper-Beam; grandchildren, Megan and Caitlen Harper; and nephew, nieces, grandnephew and grandnieces.

A celebration was held Nov. 13, 2004, and the military tribute and burial will be held at 11am, today at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy.
