The Gilroy High softball team closed the regular season with back-to-back losses to Salinas and North Salinas, dropping their overall record to 12-10 overall.

Salinas defeated the Mustangs 5-3 on Tuesday. Gilroy’s regular season ended Thursday with a 7-5 loss at the hands of North Salinas.

The Mustangs will find out if they earned a Central Coast Section playoff berth Saturday.

The Cougars season ended with their third consecutive loss. Christopher finished the season 11-15 overall and 2-10 inside the Monterey Bay League.

Against Notre Dame on Thursday, Christopher fell behind early and lost 9-1. Notre Dame scored at least one run in five of the game’s seven innings to claim the victory.

Baseball

The Cougars season ended their season Thursday with a 6-1 loss to San Benito High in Hollister. The Cougars first season in the MBL ended with a 9-17-1.

The Cougars took a 1-0 lead in the second inning, but the Balers quickly took away. Kevin Willard finished 1-for-3 with an RBI.
