– The South County Airport Pilots Association, a nonprofit
organization comprised of pilots and aviation enthusiasts at South
County Airport, will award three $1,000 scholarships to the
applicants who best demonstrate motivation, achievement and
financial need in regards to pursuing flight trainin
g and/or an aviation maintenance program.
San Jose – The South County Airport Pilots Association, a nonprofit organization comprised of pilots and aviation enthusiasts at South County Airport, will award three $1,000 scholarships to the applicants who best demonstrate motivation, achievement and financial need in regards to pursuing flight training and/or an aviation maintenance program.
“These scholarships are being offered to not only high school and college students, but also to adults, embarking on aviation and aircraft maintenance as a career,” said Mark Sochan, SCAPA President.
Applications must be submitted by May 31, and will need to include a one- to two-page typed letter describing the applicant’s background, activities in school and/or work, and community, activities and experiences related to aviation, life goals, and how receiving this scholarship would help his or her future in aviation. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, 16 years of age or older, and a resident of Santa Clara or San Benito counties.
Applications must be mailed to the Scholarship Committee, South County Airport Pilots Association, P.O. Box 1440, San Martin, CA 95046 and received no later than May 31, 2007. Winners will be notified June 12. The scholarship application and complete information is available on the SCAPA Web site, www.southcountypilots.org.
