Matthew Telfer and Megan Bair are engaged to be married.

Matthew, son of John and Diane Telfer, is a 2000 graduate of Live Oak High School and received a bachelor’s degree in communications from UC Davis in 2004. He is a commercial and residential real estate agent.

Megan, daughter of Fred and Barbara Bair, is a 2001 graduate of Garces Memorial High School in Bakersfield, received a bachelor’s degree in human development from UC Davis in 2005 and a teaching credential and master’s degree in education from UC San Diego in 2007. She is a second-grade teacher.

The couple plan a June 11, 2010 wedding at St. Catherine’s Parish in Morgan Hill with a reception following at Clos LaChance Winery in San Martin. They will honeymoon in Tahiti.

Best/Stewart

Heidi Jo Best and Brian Edward Stewart were engaged Thanksgiving 2008. They exchanged vows Dec. 5, 2009 at the Marine Memorial Hotel, Union Square, in San Francisco. Their son, Jordan Edward Stewart, born July 13, 2009, served as ringbearer (with some assistance) and celebrated as they tied the knot. Friends and family joined them from as far away as Washington D.C. and North Carolina, making their wedding weekend memorable for a lifetime.

Heidi, daughter of Bob and Joan Best, is a 1999 graduate of Live Oak High School, and a 2003 graduate of Chico State University. Brian, son of Henry and Eloise Stewart, is a 1991 graduate of St. Patrick-St. Vincent High School in Vallejo and a 1998 graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Jeramy Graham Moore

Jeramy Graham Moore, named in memory of LCpl Jeramy Ailes, was born Jan. 9, 2010, at Kaiser Hospital in Santa Clara to Janay Ailes and Rory Moore of Campbell. He weighed 6 pounds, 12.3 ounces.

Marcos William Justo

Marcos William Justo was born Jan. 8, 2010, at Kaiser, Woodland Hills, to Jeremy and Sherill Justo of Sherman Oaks. He weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces.

Joe Angel Esparza III

Joe Angel Esparza III was born Dec. 24, 2009 at Saint Louise Regional Hospital to Victoria Vasquez and Joe Esparza Jr. of Gilroy. He weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce.

HONORS

Michelle Danner

Michelle Danner of Morgan Hill was named to the Dean’s Honors List for the fall quarter 2009 at the University of California, Santa Barbara. This honor is earned by students who have attained a 3.75 grade point average on a program of 12 or more graded units in the College of Letters and Science or a 3.5 in the College of Engineering. She is a pre-biology major.

Justin Viduya

Seaman Recruit Justin C. Viduya has graduated from boot camp at the Recruit Training Command, Naval Station Great Lakes Ill. During the nine weeks of military training, Viduya trained in the Navy’s core values of honor, courage and commitment with the basic skills of training in a team environment. He endured the academic, physical and emotional challenges at RTC. His next destination will be Pensacola, Fla., to start “A” School training in aircraft mechanics.

Viduya graduated from Gunderson High School in San Jose and attended Gavilan College. He is the son of Jackie and Craig Gartman of Gilroy.
