Dominic James Carrillo was born June 17, 2007, at Santa Teresa Kaiser to parents Jennifer Denniston and Isaac Carrillo of Gilroy. He weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces.

Delaynna Martinez Ureno

Delaynna Martinez Ureno was born June 6, 2007 at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital in Hollister to parents Monica Ureno and Alex Martinez of Hollister. She weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces.

Danika Paige Wilson

Danika Paige Wilson was born May 30, 2007 at Saint Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy to parents Melissa and Ed Wilson of Gilroy. She weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces.

Cassie Elizabeth Rodriguez

Cassie Elizabeth Rodriguez was born June 7, 2007 at Saint Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy to parents Claudia and Oscar Rodriguez of Hollister. She weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces.

ENGAGEMENTS

Campanelli/Hendrick

Lisa Marie Campanelli and Matthew Reed Hendrick are engaged to be married.

Lisa is the daughter of Mark and Kim Campanelli of Davis. She is a 1997 graduate of Davis Senior High School and attended college in San Luis Obispo. Lisa received a bachelor’s degree in apparel marketing design and business from CSU Sacramento. She currently works as a merchandising buyer for Sephora USA at the US headquarters in San Francisco.

Matthew is the son of Tim and Denise Hendrick of Morgan Hill. He is a 1996 graduate of Live Oak High School and attended college in San Luis Obispo. He received a bachelor’s degree in marketing from San Francisco State University. He currently works as a market manager for Bacardi USA in the Bay Area.

Lisa and Matt met while attending college in San Luis Obispo and continued their relationship while finishing college at two different schools. After college they both lived in San Francisco and recently moved to Walnut Creek.

The wedding is planned for Sept. 1, 2007, at Blackhawk Country Club, Danville, Ca. The couple will reside in Walnut Creek.

Walker/Tellerday

Jennifer Walker and Cody Tellerday have announced their marriage on July 7, 2007, at David’s Restaurant in Santa Clara. Jennifer is the daughter of Curtis and Beth Walker of Morgan Hill, and Cody is the son of Barth Tellerday of Gilroy and Susan Tellerday of Gilroy. 

The bride, a 2003 graduate from Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill, works for Kelly Paper in San Jose. She is continuing her education in the field of Finance.

The groom, a 2004 graduate of Gilroy High School in Gilroy, works at Cisco Systems in San Jose. He is continuing his education in the field of Facilities Maintence and HVAC.

The couple will reside in Morgan Hill.

HONORS

Taylor Howard

Taylor Howard, 14, of Boy Scout Troop 709, will be honored at a special Eagle Scout ceremony June 17 at the Church of Latter Day Saints.

To earn scouting’s highest award, Taylor had to earn 21 merit badges, serve as a leader in his troop and complete a major community service project. Taylor has been a member of Troop 709 for six years. He has served the troop as an assistant patrol leader, patrol leader and senior patrol.

Taylor is an 8th-grader at Britton Middle School and will attend Live Oak High School in the fall.

Shelby Pollock

Shelby Pollock, daughter of Eddie and Gloria Pollock of Gilroy, received a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies with a minor in family and consumer sciences from Fresno State University, where she also became a member of Delta Gamma Sorority.

Joel Stieber

Joel Stieber, son of Paul and Debe Stieber of Gilroy, recently graduated with honors from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Joel earned a bachelor’s degree in illustration and is currently working for an archetectural firm in Laguna Beach.

A family celebration will take place in July in Sheboygan, Wis.

Norman Funez

Norman Funez, of Gilroy, recently completed basic training for the U.S. Army in South Carolina. His family, including his wife Angelica and his mother Iris, congratulate him on his accomplishment, and anxiously await his return home.

Stephanie Chak

Stephanie Chak, of Morgan Hill, graduated from American University’s Kogod School of Business with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Chak is the daughter of Shu Yi Deng and Cliff Chak and is a 2004 graduate of Live Oak High School. She was the local director of National Student Partnerships at American University.

Madelon Thomas

Madelon Thomas of Gilroy, who graduated from Monte Vista Christian School earlier this month, won the Alex d’Arbeloff Scholorship last week. The award comes with $1,000 to put toward California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, where she will attend college this fall. The scholarship is given by Teradyne – a Massachusetts-based electronics-testing

company – where both her parents work and open to children, step-children and grandchildren of employees. Thomas is one of 30 graduates to win the award.

Derrick W. Fellows

Derrick W. Fellows made the Dean’s List for the Spring Quarter 2007 (GPA 3.76) at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He is the son of Lisa and Ron Fellows of Gilroy and is an architecture/construction management major.

Lauren Bevilacqua

Chapman University, the largest, most comprehensive independent university in Orange County, announces that Lauren F. Bevilacqua, of Gilroy, was named to the Chancellor’s List for the spring 2007 semester. To achieve this academic recognition, students must earn a grade point average of 3.6 or higher in at least 12 credits of residence course work taken for a letter grade in a semester.

Chapman University, founded in 1861 and based in the city of Orange, is one of the oldest, most prestigious private universities in California. Named to the list of top universities in the nation by U.S. News & World Report and The Princeton Review, Chapman University has 281 full-time faculty and enrolls more than 5, 900 students, including 1,800 graduate and law students.

Jennifer Howard

Jennifer L. Howard, daughter of Laurie Weber and Kim Weber, Lt. Col. USAF (Ret.) of Gilroy, and Rusty and Juli Howard of Sunnyvale, successfully completed the Basic Military Training Course of the United States Air Force on May 18, 2007. She is now an Airman and is currently stationed at the Presidio of Monterey, studying language.

Samantha Calios

Samantha Paige Calios, of Morgan Hill, was among 580 students named to the Gonzaga University Dean’s List for spring semester. Students must earn a 3.5-3.69 GPA to be listed.

Rebecca Blessing

Rebecca A. Blessing, of Morgan Hill, has graduated from St. Olaf College in Minnesota with a degree in fine arts and mathematics. She graduated magna cum laude and a distinction in ID fine arts. Blessing is a graduate of Valley Christian High School.
