ENGAGEMENT: Kastle/Swanson: Sarah Michele Kastle and Jason James Swanson are engaged to be married.
Sarah, daughter of Todd and Angelyn Kastle of Morgan Hill, graduated from Monte Vista High School and from Gavilan Community College with honors. She will graduate from San Francisco State University in May with a bachelor’s degree in hospitality and tourism management. Sarah owns Sarah Michele Weddings and Events.
James, son of Roger and Michelle Swanson of Morgan Hill, graduated from Live Oak High School where he played basketball and football and was ASB Rally Commissioner his senior year. He will graduate from San Francisco State University with a bachelor’s degree in recreation management. Jason is an after-school program coordinator for the San Francisco YMCA.
The couple plans a June 27, 2015 wedding in San Martin.

James Simoni
James Simoni, of Morgan Hill, is a new member of the American Angus Association, the national breed organization headquartered in Saint Joseph, Mo.
The Association, with nearly 24,000 active adult and junior members, is the largest beef breed association in the world. The association records ancestral information, keeps production records on individual animals and develops industry-leading selection tools for its members.
These programs and services help members select and mate the best animals in their herds to produce quality genetics for the beef cattle industry and quality beef for consumers.
Katharine Bright
Pepperdine University student Katharine Bright, of San Martin, was named to the Seaver College dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester.
In order to earn honors, students must be in the upper 10 percent of their class and maintain a 3.5 or better grade point average. This year Bright is one of only 286 students to receive the honor.
Seaver College, located in Malibu, is the undergraduate school for Pepperdine University, a Christian institution committed to the highest standards of academic excellence and Christian values, where students are strengthened for lives of purpose, service and leadership.
