Adriana Servin

HONORS: Adriana Servin: Adriana Servin is Gavilan College’s Employee of the Month for May 2013. She is the office assistant for EOP&S and CalWORKS and has been with Gavilan College since 2000.

Adriana is the first friendly face people see when they enter the office. She is always able and willing to assist every student who walks in the door and always lends a helping hand. Adriana knows 99.9 percent of the students by name and she treats everyone with dignity and respect. She is a single mom and is a student at San Jose State University.

 

Cameron Pappa

Cameron Pappa, of Gilroy, was named to the 2013 spring semester dean’s list at Ohio Wesleyan University.

To qualify for dean’s list recognition, Ohio Wesleyan students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale in all applicable classes.

Founded in 1842, Ohio Wesleyan University is one of the nation’s premier small, private universities.

Madison Cline

Madison Cline, of Gilroy, earned dean’s list recognition at George Fox University for the spring 2013 semester. Cline, a freshman majoring in Christian ministries, earned the distinction for earning a 3.5 grade point average or better for at least one term.

George Fox University is ranked by Forbes among the top Christian universities in the country and is a Christian college classified by U.S. News & World Report as a first-tier regional university.

Matthew Walker

Haverford College is pleased to announce the graduation of Matthew Paul Walker, son of Timothy and Irene Walker of Gilroy, and a graduate of Advanced Christian Training Schools. One of 296 members of Haverford’s Class of 2013, Walker received a bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in Greek during commencement ceremonies in Haverford, Pa.

Walker’s senior thesis, the culmination of the Haverford academic experience, is entitled, “Qualifying the Body of Christ: Latin Conceptions of Identity in Intra-Christian Relations in the Levant, 1095–1187.”

Walker received the Sylvia Glickman Chamber Music Prize, which honors the seniors who have displayed leadership, commitment, innovation and improvement during their tenure in the Bi-Co Chamber Music Program.

Scott Rottman

Scott Rottman graduated cum laude from San Jose State University on May 25 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He is a 2009 graduate of Gilroy High School.

Karen McElheny

Pepperdine University student Karen McElheny, of Morgan Hill, has been named to the Seaver College dean’s list for the spring 2013 semester. In order to earn Dean’s List honors, students must be in the upper 10 percent of their class and maintain a 3.5 or better grade point average.

Seaver College, located in Malibu, is the undergraduate school for Pepperdine University, a Christian institution committed to the highest standards of academic excellence and Christian values, where students are strengthened for lives of purpose, service, and leadership.
