Roland and Betty Muhleman recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. The couple was married Sept. 3, 1948 in Temperance, Mich. 

ANNIVERSARY: Muhlemans celebrate 65 years: Roland and Betty Muhleman recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. The couple was married Sept. 3, 1948 in Temperance, Mich. To celebrate, they plan an Alaskan Cruise.
In 1966, they moved to San Jose from Ohio. A year later, they built a home in Morgan Hill, where they lived until 1996. They currently live in Shasta Lake.
Roland (Red) is a graduate from Macomber Vocational High School in Toledo, Ohio and studied engineering at the University of Toledo. He is a veteran, serving in the Merchant Marine, 1944-1946, and also in the Army during the Korean War. He is a member of the Redding Elks Lodge and retired from the FMC Corp. in San Jose as a technical writing supervisor.
Betty is a graduate of DeVilbiss High School in Toledo, Ohio. She has been a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority for 67 years and is retired from the Morgan Hill Unified School District.
The couple has two daughters; Diane and husband Ken Robertson of Cottonwood, and Rebecca Muhleman of Penn Valley. They have four grandchildren.
HONORS
Miguel Rodriguez
Army National Guard Pvt. Miguel A. Rodriguez has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
Rodriguez is the son of Tara Martinez of Gilroy and a 2009 graduate of Gilroy High School.
Ariel Mosbrucker
Ariel Mosbrucker, of Morgan Hill, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2013 semester at Purdue University. To be named to the dean’s list, a student must have completed at least 12 credit hours, be enrolled at least half-time, have a semester grade point average of at least 3.0 and have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.
