CIF State Finals finishes Saturday at Centennial Gardens
BAKERSFIELD – The two-time defending Central Coast Section Champions have seven of their top wrestlers competing in the CIF State Finals at Centennial Gardens in Bakersfield on Friday and Saturday.

Seniors John Gurich and Mark Zabala, both two-time CCS weight class champions, are returning state placers. Gurich, now wrestling at 112 pounds, took fourth in the 103-pound division last year in Stockton, while Zabala placed fifth in his first state competition at 171 lbs. Both are hoping to finish off their varsity wrestling careers at the top of their weight divisions

Sophomore Armando Gonzalez, a two-time CCS titleholder, also returns to the state meet, after going 1-2 in his freshman season. He will wrestle at 125 pounds.

Sophomore Adin Duenas qualifieed for the state championships for the second year in a row, placing second in CCS in back-to-back years.

Head Coach Armando Gonzalez will also bring state-qualifiers Chad Haygood, Nicolo Naranjo, and Callan Romesberg.
