GILROY – The Tomcats needed a seventh-inning rally to remain unbeaten in Men’s Winter BB League play Wednesday at Las Animas Park.

Mike Nichols triggered a five-run rally in the top of the seventh against the Enforcers as the Tomcats erased a 4-2 deficit, moving to 6-0 atop the seven-team league with a 6-0 mark.

Adam Montarbo hit a two-run home run and Chase Locsin provided two singles as the Enforcers (3-3) built a 4-2 lead after six frames. After the Nichols homer, Richard Rodriquez, Marshall Silva, Marco Lopez and Danny Pequeno each singled and scored for the Tomcats.

George Salgado hit two home runs, Gil Barry added one and Gabe Ponce went 4-for-4 as 5-1 Westwood Barbers trimmed Obata Farms 20-3. Mike Smith and Jason Krulee each delivered two hits for the Farmers.

Deez Nutz scored 12 runs in the seventh inning, then struck for six in the eighth to upset Pizza N Stuff Red Dogz 23-17. Mando Lerma went 4-for-5 and Mike Lucio crushed two triples for Deez. Eddie Vargas powered two home runs and Raul Bueno went 5-for-6 for the Red Dogz.

Don’s Vending remained in post-season contention in the Women’s Winter League Wednesday with a 17-0 nod over Chilicas.

Alma Quistian singled to open a 12-run seventh inning for Don’s Vending. Kathy Van Hoy and Corrine Casillas each drilled two hits in the Vendor rally.

Don’s improved to 4-3 along with M&M’s. The two teams will play Monday at 8:50 p.m. at Gavilan with a playoff berth at stake.

Goldsmith Seeds is 7-0 atop the eight-team circuit after a 10-1 victory over Eugene Marks Tractor Service at Christmas Hill Park.

Paula Stewart and Yolanda Lomas each collected three hits for Goldsmith. Nancy McDonald collected a double and single, Lisa Low and Anna Cabrera two singles apiece for the 5-2 Tractors.

Laura Hagiperos went 5-for-5 with five RBI to lead M&M’s past M. Rizzo Landscaping 13-0. Missy Hice went 3-for-3, Debra Grove and Shelly Guerrero each 3-for-4 for the winners. Michelle Garza-Rivera went 2-for-3 for M. Rizzo.

Brandy Davis went 4-for-5 and drove in six runs to highlight a 32-3 Dutchman’s Pizza win over Michael’s Mufflers. Mary Oteri, Jeanne Ramos and Valerie Logan each logged four Dutchman’s hits. Sophia Gause hit a a two-run double for Michael’s Mufflers.
