Sheila LaPorte passed away Saturday afternoon after a lengthly illness. She was married to Jack LaPorte for 52 years.
Mother of Suzanne Darr of Utah, Kathleen Westphal of San Ramon, Julie Davies of Salinas and Jim LaPorte of San Ramon. Sister of Loren McClure of Hollister.
Also survived by 9 grandchildren.
Sheila loved golfing and was a member of the Ridgemark, Golf and Country Club Women’s Club. She and her husband Jack loved traveling with friends and playing golf at different locations throughout California, Nevada and Utah before becoming ill 5 years ago. Her most cherished times were those gatherings that included her children and grandchildren.
Sheila worked for the City of Hollister for many years as an administrative assistant to five different City Managers.
Sheila had an incredible warmth and soft demeanor that drew people to her. She loved her family and friends unconditionally and had an unexpected, quick-witted but dry sense of humor. Her compassion and grace will never be forgotten and can never be replaced.
