Bobby Peter Ortiz, 43, of Morgan Hill, 12:50 a.m. Jan. 6, on the 13000 block of Depot Street in San Martin after police responded to a report of a prowler in the area and pepper-sprayed him because he would not comply with their orders.

Possession of methamphetamine

Joseph Zuniga Oviedo, 37, of Gilroy, 2:15 a.m. Jan. 2, near Fourth Street and Miller Avenue for possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

Drunk in public

Ginger Marie Boudreaux, 32, of Gilroy, 2:54 a.m. Jan. 1, near Monterey Road and Peebles Avenue in Morgan Hill after deputies found her walking in the middle of the road.

False identification

Damon Anthony Garrett, 21, of San Jose, 2:36 p.m. Dec. 26, on the 900 block of Southside Drive for giving false information to a police officer and probation violation.

Stolen vehicle

Jorge Mendoza, 25, of Gilroy, 2:54 a.m. Dec. 26, near Leavesley and Murray roads for driving a stolen vehicle and possession of stolen property.

Attempted auto burglary

Christian James Farmer, 26, of Gilroy, 7:10 a.m. Dec. 23, near Bristlecone Court and Ponderosa Drive after deputies observed him looking into vehicles and checking for unlocked vehicle doors. Farmer fled from police after he noticed he was being watched, but he was later arrested by Gilroy police.

Robert Edwardo Torres, 24, of Gilroy, 7:10 a.m. Dec. 23, near Bristlecone Court and Ponderosa Drive after deputies observed him acting as the look out for a friend who was checking cars for unlocked doors.

Burglary

Raymond Ward, 50, of Campbell, 10:55 a.m. Dec. 28, near Eighth and Chestnut streets after deputies conducted a traffic stop.

Stolen vehicle

A 2006 blue Honda Civic Hybrid was stolen from the 900 block of Southside Drive, between 5:30 and 7:40 p.m. Sunday.

A 1995 white Chevrolet pick-up truck with the keys left in the ignition was stolen from the 13600 block of Mammini Court in San Martin, between 9:45 p.m. Dec. 30 and 9:30 a.m. Dec. 31.

A golf cart was stolen then abandoned nearby from the CordeValle Golf Club on the 1000 block of Highland Avenue in San Martin, between 8 and 9 p.m. Dec. 28.

Residential burglary

The glass window of a residence on the 15000 block of Sycamore Drive in Morgan Hill was broken and gold coins, passports and suitcases were stolen from inside, between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Jan. 8.

Various electronics and jewelry worth more than $4,000 were stolen from an unlocked residence on the 2000 block of Giampoli Street in San Martin, between 6:45 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Jan. 5.

Grand theft

Two radios, a bag of hand tools and a bag of brass water pipe fittings were stolen from the unlocked cab of a Peterbilt water truck parked on the 9000 block of New Avenue, between 12 a.m. Dec. 1 and 8 a.m. Jan. 7.

About $5,150 worth of electronic equipment, cameras, money, credit cards and checks were stolen from three unlocked vehicles on the 11000 block of Carls Court in San Martin, between 10:30 p.m. Dec. 24 and 4:30 p.m. Dec. 25.

Mail theft

A locked mailbox possibly containing mail and bank checks was stolen from its post on the 13000 block of Uvas Road in Morgan Hill, between 12 p.m. Jan. 3 and 7 p.m. Jan. 6.

Harassing calls

Deputies believe a 33-year-old San Jose woman sent text messages to a woman who lives on the 2900 block of Pacheco Pass Highway threatening to carry out bodily harm, about 7:30 a.m. Jan. 2.

Recovered stolen vehicle

A 2002 blue Ford Expedition stolen out of Gilroy was found abandoned on the 15000 block of Murphy Avenue in Morgan Hill, 6:48 p.m. Jan. 5.

A 1995 white Honda Civic was found on the 6800 block of Church Street, 4:01 p.m. Jan. 2.

Identity theft

A Morgan Hill man’s debit card was used to make two unauthorized, online charges to Metro PCS, between 12 a.m. Dec. 27 and 12 a.m. Jan. 3.

Four checks belonging to a Morgan Hill woman were forged and cashed, between 9 a.m. Dec. 17 and 12 p.m. Dec. 22.

Found property

A California driver’s license, a resident card and a school identification card were found near Watsonville and Burchell roads, 11:50 a.m. Jan. 5, and returned to the owner.

Electronic equipment that appeared to have been taken from Gavilan College, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., was found near Holsclaw and Gilman roads, 11:50 a.m. Jan. 5.

Four discharged fire extinguishers were found near Church Street and Sycamore Avenue in San Martin, 11:56 a.m. Dec. 25.

Vandalism

A locked, empty mailbox on the 9000 block of No Name Uno was pried open, between 6 p.m. Jan. 4 and 6 a.m. Jan. 5.

Several areas of a gas station on the 10000 block of Pacheco Pass Highway in Hollister were spray painted, between 10 p.m. Dec. 25 and 7 a.m. Dec. 26.

Holes were cut into a cyclone fence and about $200 worth of copper wire was stolen from an equipment yard on the 100 block of Metcalf Road in San Jose, between 12 p.m. Dec. 22 and 12 p.m. Dec. 23.

Petty theft of a dog

A German shepherd worth $125 was stolen from the front yard of a residence on the 1700 block of Dunlap Avenue, between 12:30 and 1 p.m. Dec. 27.

Recovered stolen property

A stolen toolbox was found on the 6400 block of Mount Madonna Road, 11:30 a.m. Dec. 23, and returned to its owner.

Burglary

A lock on the door of the admissions office and a window inside the financial aid office at Gavilan College, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., were broken but nothing was taken, between 5 p.m. Dec. 21 and 7 a.m. Dec. 22.

Commercial burglary

A window of the San Martin Cafe on the 13400 block of Monterey Road in San Martin was smashed and the empty ATM inside dismantled, between 5 p.m. Dec. 30 and 2:15 p.m. Dec. 31.
