Police Blotter: Recent arrests made in Gilroy and Morgan Hill

Grand theft and trespassing
– On May 20 at 10:30 p.m. near the 1200 block of Bravo Court in
San Martin, one suspect and two unknown male suspects trespassed
onto a victim’s property, cut the padlock gate leading to the
stables and took one mare and colt belonging to the victim. The
suspect and two unknown males removed the horses from the property,
walked them onto Columbet Avenue and fled to an unknown location.
The suspect and two unknown males are at large.
Grand theft and trespassing

– On May 20 at 10:30 p.m. near the 1200 block of Bravo Court in San Martin, one suspect and two unknown male suspects trespassed onto a victim’s property, cut the padlock gate leading to the stables and took one mare and colt belonging to the victim. Assault with a deadly weapon

– On May 22 at 10:30 a.m. near the 1500 block of Murphy Avenue in San Martin a suspect attempted to hit a victim with a machete. The victim picked up a shovel to defend himself. The suspect stopped before striking the victim, then fled the scene. The suspect is still at large.

Possession

– Steven Hernandez, 46, May 5 at 7:47 p.m. near the intersection of 10th Street and Church Street in Gilroy for possession of Vicodin without a prescription.

Vehicle theft

– On May 17 at 11 p.m. an unknown suspect stole a vehicle from a residence on the 600 block of San Bruno Avenue in Morgan Hill. The vehicle is a red 1998 Dodge truck with approximately $2,500 worth of tools inside one of the toolboxes. The suspect is still at large.

Resisting an officer

– Timothy Alvarado, 51, May 19 at 7:50 a.m. near the intersection of Monterey Highway and Chester Avenue in San Martin for resisting an officer and expired registration.

Possession of unlawful weapons

– Alfonso Navarro, 27, May 5 at 10:10 p.m. near the intersection of the 1200 block of Foothill Avenue and Mayan Lane in San Martin for possession of unlawful weapons and battery. Police say Navarro grabbed a female victim by the shoulder and threw her to the ground. The female victim wanted to press charges against Navarro for battery. When Navarro was located walking near his vehicle, police say they found two double-edged throwing knives and marijuana in his vehicle.

Auto burglary

– On May 5 at 8 p.m. near the 10000 block of Lucky Court in Gilroy an unknown suspect smashed the front passenger side window of a victim’s locked vehicle. The suspect stole a computer briefcase, laptop computer, various electronic equipment and paperwork.

Reckless driving

– Zachary Dutra, 19, May 23 at 7:42 p.m. near the intersection of Kern Avenue and Welburn Avenue in Gilroy for reckless driving, failing to stop at a stop sign and driving without a front license plate.
