Two gold rings and a gold watch worth $12,950 were stolen from a
desk drawer inside a locked office of a residence on the 17500
block of Uvas Road in Morgan Hill, between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
May 2. The owner of the residence rented a room to a woman, who he
is evicting. The woman’s OxyContin supply was later stolen from a
locked safe, between 4:30 and 8:45 p.m. May 2. The owner of the
home has admitted to abusing OxyContin, but denied taking the
woman’s drugs.

Under the influence of a controlled substance

Edwardo Zanella, 59, of San Martin, 7:02 p.m. Saturday, near Monterey Road and Highland Avenue in San Martin for being under the influence and driving without a license.

Davis Brian Vest, 44, of Sunnyvale, 7:19 a.m. Saturday, on the 100 block of Ogier Avenue in Morgan Hill.

Raul Valentin Silva, 48, of Gilroy, 12:48 a.m. Friday, near Eigleberry and Sixth streets.

Mario Frias Gomez, 41, of San Jose, 8 p.m. Thursday, near Monterey and Leavesley roads.

Rafael Gil Aparicio, 32, of Gilroy, 5:25 p.m. May 5, at the Gilroy Caltrain station near Monterey and Ninth streets, for being under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia and probation violation.

John Anthony Martinez, 44, of Gilroy, 1:58 a.m. May 4, near Hanna and Eighth streets.

Irene Reveles, 37, and David Keith White, 49, both of Morgan Hill, 7:30 a.m. May 5, on the 9500 block of Monterey Highway in Morgan Hill during a parole search for being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of methamphetamine.

Possession of a controlled substance

Isidro Uribe Rubio, 37, of Gilroy, 12:15 p.m. Saturday, near Luchessa Avenue and Monterey Road.

Possession of less than an ounce of marijuana

Benjamin Antonio Amezquita, 25, of Gilroy, 1:04 a.m. May 4, near Forest and Leavesley roads.

Alyssa Michelle Hamlin, 18, of Morgan Hill, 8:20 p.m. May 2, in the Safeway parking lot near Tennant Avenue and Church Street in Morgan Hill.

Reckless driving

Michael Taylor Morse, 19, of Morgan Hill, 3:11 a.m. May 4, near Oak Glen Avenue and Reynolds Drive in Morgan Hill after police clocked him driving at speeds exceeding 70 mph on a road where the posted speed limit is 35 mph with a 17-year-old female passenger.

Fraudulent use of registration

Daniel Herrera Lara, 44, of Gilroy, 12:35 a.m. May 4, near Rosanna and Seventh streets for using two different license plates to avoid paying registration fees and driving without a license.

Theft of a trailer

A 1986 green flatbed Brewn trailer was stolen from the 1300 block of Borges Court, between 12 p.m. May 4 and 10 p.m. Saturday.

Grand theft

An airplane battery worth about $500 was removed from a woman’s plane parked at the San Martin Airport, 13030 Murphy Ave., between 12 a.m. April 30 and 1:30 p.m. Friday.

Several power and hand tools were stolen from the patio of a residence on the 8200 block of Croy Road in Morgan Hill, between 5 p.m. May 2 and 5 p.m. Thursday.

A rainbow motorcycle HJC motorcycle helmet worth $600 was stolen from a yard on the 15800 block of Sunnyside Avenue in Morgan Hill, between 5 p.m. April 30 and 9:20 a.m. May 1.

Recovered stolen vehicle

A stolen 1999 gray Toyota Corolla was found near Gilman Avenue and Camino Arroyo Circle, 8:41 p.m. May 5. When searching the vehicle, police found a white envelope with the name of a 25-year-old Gilroy man who they believe stole the vehicle.

Commercial burglary

A safe containing $1,860 and blank checks were stolen from the San Martin Lion’s Club on the 12400 block of Murphy Avenue, between 12 and 11:10 a.m. May 5.

Residential burglary

The rear door of a residence on the 7600 block of Holsclaw Road was pried open and the home was ransacked, between 7:30 a.m. and 10 p.m. May 4.

A glass door of a residence on the 12200 block of Sycamore Avenue in San Martin was broken, the garage door was kicked in, a red brick was thrown through a bedroom window and a $10 ring was stolen from inside, between 6:30 and 9:45 p.m. May 1.

Petty theft

A bicycle worth $450 was stolen from the front yard of a residence on the 16200 block of Paradise Valley Lane in Morgan Hill, between 12 a.m. March 1 and 12 p.m. May 1.

A rain gauge worth $25 was stolen from the backyard of a residence near Church and Llagas avenues in San Martin, between 8 a.m. April 10 and 12 p.m. April 15.

Auto burglary

The window of a 2005 gray GMC Yukon parked at Gavilan College, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., was shattered and a wallet, clothing and electronics were stolen from inside, between 8 and 10:15 a.m. May 1.

Vandalism

A door at South Valley Internet, 95 E. San Martin Ave., was cracked, between 11:20 p.m. May 1 and 8:30 a.m. May 3.
