deputy’s patrol car. Dumont sped off and was later located near
Santa Teresa and Watsonville Road in Morgan Hill with the help of
two joggers in the area. Dumont was arrested for reckless driving
and possession of brass knuckles, which were found in his jacket
pocket.

Under the influence of a controlled substance

James Duran, 43, of Morgan Hill, 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, near Leavesley Avenue and Monterey Road after admitting to a deputy that he has smoked methamphetamine in the past and was evaluated as being under the influence.

Edmund Solorzano, 38, of Gilroy, 11 a.m. Dec. 21, near First Street and Wren Avenue after approaching a patrol vehicle while displaying symptoms of being under the influence. Solorzano, who was on parole, admitted to smoking meth that morning and was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and parole hold.

Auto burglary

An Xbox 360, various video games, a digital camera and other miscellaneous items worth about $5,000 were stolen from three unlocked vehicles parked at a residence on the 11000 block of Carls Court in San Martin, about 5:30 p.m. Dec. 25.

Theft

The rear license plate was stolen from a vehicle parked on the 13000 block of Monterey Road in San Martin during the night of Nov. 30.
