Under the influence of a controlled substance
Francisco A Lorenzana, 22, of Gilroy on the 7200 block of Monterey Highway at the Gilroy CalTrans parking lot, 11:47 p.m. Monday.
Possession of marijuana
Junior Olegario Torres, 18, of Gilroy near Monterey and Leavesley roads, 12:55 a.m. Feb. 10, for possession of marijuana and not having a front license plate.

Vehicle burglary
A wallet, credit cards, a social security card and $100 was stolen from a 2006 gold Chrysler Pacifica on the 7300 block of Furlong Avenue, between 11:30 a.m. Feb. 26 and 10 p.m. Feb. 27. The thief then charged about $3,400 to one of the stolen credit cards.
About $1,400 worth of miscellaneous property was stolen from a locked 2008 grey Mazda 3 on the 9700 block of New Avenue, between 10:45 p.m. Feb. 23 and 7:30 a.m. Feb. 24.
A brown Coach purse worth $450, and three wallets containing several different credit cards were stolen from a 2002 grey GMC truck on the 3200 block of Santa Clara Street in San Martin and Rucker Elementary School, between 11:45 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. Feb. 12.
A purse containing credit cards was stolen from a locked 2008 white Toyota Corolla on the 4800 block of Monterey Road at the Headstart Nursery, between 1:06 p.m. and 3 p.m. Feb. 11. The credit cards were later used to make several fraudulent charges.
Residential burglary
A residence near Pacheco Pass Highway and Lovers Lane in Hollister was broken into and several items were stolen, between 8:15 a.m. and 4:27 p.m. Feb. 27.
A silver and black Dell computer valued at $2,400 was stolen from a residence on the 15400 block of Oak Glen Avenue in Morgan Hill, between 8:19 a.m. and 7:05 p.m. Feb. 10. A screwdriver had been used to pry open the home’s front door.
Grand theft
A 24-year-old Hollister man is suspected of embezzling $24,000 from the Gilroy Veterinarian Hospital where he was employed, between 8 a.m. Jan. 1, 2008, and Sept. 4, 2008.
Used apricot processing equipment valued at $1,250 was stolen from a storage yard on the 500 block of Monterey Road in Morgan Hill, between 5 p.m. Nov. 25 and 12:45 p.m. Feb. 25.
A 2007 white Gooseneck trailer with tractor components valued at $40,000 was stolen from the Union Pacific Railroad easement on the 2700 block of Old Monterey Road, between 8:30 a.m. Feb. 23 and 8:30 a.m. Feb. 24.
A Nikon digital camera, an iPod and accessories, and a GPS were stolen from an unlocked 2004 silver Chevrolet Tahoe on the 1600 block of Salem Avenue, between 12 and 5 a.m. Feb. 24.
A residential water pump valued at $1,300 was stolen from a residence on the 13000 block of Uvas Road in Morgan Hill, between 12:01 and 4 a.m. Feb. 23.
Petty theft
The rear license plate was stolen from a 1994 green Ford F150 on the 13600 block of Santa Teresa Boulevard in San Martin, between 11 p.m. Feb. 24 and 5 p.m. Feb. 25.
Unattended death
A woman who did not have any known medical problems was pronounced dead on the 13500 block of Center Avenue in San Martin, 3:05 p.m. Feb. 25. The cause of death is under investigation.
Misappropriated lost property
A woman lost her purse at Gavilan College, between 8:30 and 10:15 a.m. Feb. 12.
Identity theft
A San Martin man discovered a credit card application had been made to Bank of America and Washington Mutual in his name, between 5 p.m. Feb. 9 and 9:20 a.m. Feb. 12.
