Two men were arrested over the weekend at a birthday party after a man’s wife danced with another person and the man’s friend pulled a gun to threaten people.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jose Gurrola, 38, and Rafael Maganas, 31, both of San Jose, 8 p.m. Sunday after a “high risk” vehicle enforcement stop on the 10000 block of Columbet Avenue, according to the arrest log. The two men had just left a birthday party with Gurrola’s wife. At the party, Gurrola got into a physical fight with his wife after seeing her dance with another person, although the arrest report did not specify whether it was a man or a woman. Maganas pulled a small handgun out of his waistband and pointed it at people, according to police reports.
Maganas was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, altering a firearm serial number, carrying a loaded firearm and drawing a firearm in a threatening manner, according to the arrest log. Gurrola was arrested for spousal abuse. Police found a gun in the vehicle during the traffic stop.
