The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a 28-year-old male from San Jose who they claim stabbed two males outside of Morgan Hill early Sunday morning in what appeared to be a gang-related attack.
Police alleged that San Jose resident Javier Soriano Montes, 28, stabbed the two victims – a 17-year-old male from San Jose and a 25-year-old San Martin man whose names authorities have withheld. Both were airlifted for treatment and are still recovering in an undisclosed hospital from “major injuries,” though Sgt. Don Morrissey with the sheriff’s office declined to describe the wounds or the exact circumstances of the attack pending the formal investigation.
“This appears to be gang-related, but the investigation will shake out a lot of those details,” Morrissey said.
The attack occurred minutes after midnight Sunday morning along the 15000 block of Foothill Avenue just outside of Morgan Hill’s southeastern limits. Employees at Saint Louise Regional Hospital called authorities to report the victim’s suspicious injuries, Morrissey said.
