DEAR EDITOR:
I want to commend you for taking the time to educate the community of Gilroy about the exceptional person that Mary Fambrini is and her work.
However, what she drives, her economic/social status should never in any way diminish the tremendous nature of her ambition, her humanity to those that can not defend themselves and the fact that she selflessly spends thousands of dollars every year, out of her own pocket, to protect and save these animals.
The fact that she has economically been able to take care of herself and not starve herself plus save the animals should stand as a testament to her intelligence, hard work, and ability to balance.
Her mission was begun in her former home, Utah, long before Gilroy had any knowledge of her and her care of these cats is not limited to Gilroy but to any animal she finds, let alone the many colonies she maintains throughout the South Bay.
This woman is strength and compassion on two feet, to those on four.
It is my honor to be counted as her associate at Sun and her friend.
