Gilroy native Silverio “Silver” Perez died as a result of an automobile accident Friday, March 5, 2004. He was 29 years old.

He was born in Gilroy. Then he moved with his family to Fresno during his early high school days. He graduated from C.L. McLane High School in Fresno. He returned to Gilroy in 1997 and last worked for New United Motor Manufacturing Incorporated in Fremont since 2001.

He was the loving son of Silverio F. Perez, of Gilroy, and Isabel Gonzalez-Diaz, of Gilroy; boyfriend of Elaine Gaeta, of San Jose; brother of Veronica Perez and her husband Virgil Huston, of Fresno, Daniel Perez, of Fresno, Lorraine Perez and her husband Joseph La Rocca, of Fresno and Diana Perez, of Gilroy; grandson of Ignacio Macias, of Porterville, Abel A. Castro, of Gilroy, and the late Pauline Gonzalez, Melida P. Castro and Eustacio G. Perez; and uncle of Isaiah, Elijah, Reyna, Destiny, Larissa and Jolissa. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Evening service will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy. Funeral service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Then to Gavilan Hills Memorial Park for burial.
