A small airplane crashed at Frazier Lake Airpark at about 2 p.m. today, and the victim was airlifted from the scene with unknown injuries.

Emergency responders tended to the man after the plane – which had no major, visible damage – had been flipped upside down slightly off the lighted, grassy runway area.

Responders placed the man in an ambulance as CALSTAR arrived at about 2:15 p.m. They treated him there before he was flown from the scene at about 2:40 p.m.

Some blood was visible on the interior ceiling of the plane and on a door. The victim’s identity is unknown, but a dispatcher initially reported he is age 82.

Responding were Cal Fire, San Benito County Sheriff’s Office deputies and CALSTAR, which airlifted the victim from the scene.

More will be posted as information becomes available.
