DEAR EDITOR:
I too was one of those misinformed about the bobbleheads. I was
told to just go to the Garlic Festival Web site or to their
store/headquarters and order it. Imagine my surprise when I was
told there was to be no re-order.

For the chairperson to berate a customer for being unable to pick out the person that gave them the wrong information when it is becoming more and more apparent that there was substantial misinformation given out is not in the spirit of the festival. When a souvenir sells out within the first hour we, as a community festival, should strive to fill the wants and needs of those patrons who support us.

Also the statement that they want them to “maintain their collectors value …” is disturbing. Is this festival one where we strive for “value for collectables” or one where community volunteerism and spirit steps foward to help better our whole community.

If we truly want to say we have a festival to represent that then it is time for the president of the festival to step foward and do the right thing – order more bobbleheads so that the community that has made this festival the success that it has become can share in it with a small token representing the 25 years of COMMUNITY involvement.
