Aly Olvera and Mariah Martinez had three hits and Angellica Carrillo went seven innings as the Cougars defeated Pajaro Valley 8-3 on Thursday.
“We tried to do a few different things today, hit and run and such,” manager Larry Nabzeska said. “I wanted to try and wake the team up a little bit.”
Kaslin Ettema and Mariza Rodriguez added some punch to the Cougars’ offensive attack, each recording two RBI while Olvera and Brittney Souza accounted for one RBI apiece.
Carrillo gave up four hits and struck out four in her complete-game effort.
The Cougars are now 7-2-1 overall and 3-1 in the Monterey Bay League.
CHS is right back on the diamond Friday facing non-league opponent Harbor in a make-up game that was originally scheduled for March 18.
