The Gilroy Little League girls Major Earthbound Farm Heat completed its season with a 12-1 victory against the San Jose Spartan Aztecs in the championship game of the District 59 Tournament of Champions on Monday night.
“This was a special group of girls and it was an honor and privilege to coach them all season,” manager Ed Castro said.
Morgan England’s grand slam in the first inning set the tone for the rest of the game.
Lauren Castro struck out eight to keep the game in hand. Maddie Cox, Olivia Moore, Pati Soria and Alli Hathaway each scored two runs.
