The South Valley Junior High wrestling team had a strong showing
last Saturday at the Beast of Jr. High Wrestling tournament held at
Silver Creek High School.
SAN JOSE – The South Valley Junior High wrestling team had a strong showing last Saturday at the Beast of Jr. High Wrestling tournament held at Silver Creek High School.

Although no points were kept officially, South Valley continued its domination in wrestling by claiming the tournament title bragging rights.

South Valley had seven first places, Vacaville had five, and Bakersfield had four. Tulare and Ocala each won a title each.

Jon Ramirez (70 pounds) placed fifth, Martin Gonzalez (75 pounds) placed first, Nicolo Naranjo (80 pounds) placed first, Frank Gonzalez (90 pounds) placed fourth, Rudy Maldonado (95 pounds) placed first, Jason Romesberg (100 pounds) placed first, Jimmy Praxado (110 pounds) placed third, Jacob Drexter (115 pounds) placed second, Paul Gonzalez (120 pounds) placed third, Ismael Gutierrez (125 pounds) placed third, Hunter Collins (135 pounds) placed first, Austin Gubrud (145 pounds) placed first, Luis Albarran (155 pounds) placed second, Seth Whitney (175 pounds) placed second and Andres Barragan (heavyweight) finished first.
