South Valley's new spin of walking toward a goal

To relax their cluttered psyches prior to taking the California
Standard Tests, students at South Valley Middle School on 385 IOOF
Ave. practiced a form of active mediation last week by walking
around campus together for 10 to 12 minutes every morning.

It’s just sort of a prewalk to kind of get all the nervousness
and energy out, and get the students ready to sit down and take the
test,

said Principal Greg Kapaku. Students were also joined in the
walk by teachers, administrative members and custodians.
