A Hispanic man simulated a handgun and took money from Sally’s Beauty Supply in the Gilroy Crossing shopping complex in southeast Gilroy.

About 10 a.m. today, the man approached an employee and threatened her by making the shape of a gun with his hand. The man, who was described as being about 50 years old, then took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register and ran off westbound through the parking lot.

There have been two prior similar armed robberies at this location. The first robbery was Dec. 19 and involved a mustachioed Hispanic man between 35 and 45 years old, about 5 feet, 3 inches and 200 pounds. The second robbery happened Dec. 23 and involved a Hispanic man in his late 40s or early 50s who was about 5-foot, 3-inches, 160 pounds, and who had olive skin and a brown mustache.
