A Happy New Gear to you! May 2023 add mile after mile of wonderful new bicycle adventures! Three items for you as we kick it off:
1. Is “A New Me in ’23” one of your resolutions? Weight loss, more cycling, new distance goals: whatever your New Year’s target(s), I’m pulling for you! Email me your challenges and successes—he*********@gm***.com—and I’ll keep you in my thoughts and prayers! Honest!
2. Can’t wait for the spring event rides? You don’t have to! The Community Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired assures me that their Pedaling Paths to Independence will hit the streets out of Linden on Saturday, Feb. 25. PPTI is rather quaint compared to huge charity rides, but that’s part of its charm. Choose from between their 26-mile and 100K routes, both along verdant Central Valley backroads. Your payoff includes a delicious (trust me) catered meal from DeVinci’s Ravioli Factory and Restaurant.
3. I am thrilled whenever any new bicycle business arrives here in South County. Therefore, I’d like to extend a warm Cycle Guy welcome to Epicenter Cycling, who selected the Gilroy Premium Outlets for the location of their fifth and newest store. I popped in last month to chat with store manager Ron and check out the new digs! This 4,000-square-foot emporium—it still had that new-store smell—was filled with all manner of beautiful bikes, helmets, accessories, clothing and more. The tidy service area was up and running, too. Check it out today!
