Christopher’s magical run in the Central Coast Section playoffs came to a heartbreaking and sudden end.

It took an outstanding save by Christopher keeper Carlos Arroyo to wake up the cougars in their 2-0 defeat of Santa Teresa Saturday afternoon.

Adam Mena was winning big in his championship 170-pound match, but was doing all he could to hang on.

Friday’s girls soccer game between Christopher and Everett Alvarez was a long winded battle that ended in a victory for Alvarez, 2-0.
