Gilroy High track and field coach Cathy Silva said senior sprinter Jourdan Soares hasn't peaked yet this season. That thought is indeed promising for Soares, one of the Mustangs most successful track athletes in recent years. It is also scary for anyone lined up to his right or left.

Coach Nicky Anagnoston predicted that she needed to get the most out of the five members of Christopher High’s gymnastics team if it were to meet the point total necessary to qualify for the Central Coast Section finals next week.

Heading into the final week of the Tri-County Athletic League slate, the Gilroy High softball team needed to win at least one of its remaining games to finish at least .500 and postseason eligible. The Mustangs decided to get that victory out of the way Tuesday.
