Ang Hays had tried different sports growing up, but she didn’t find one that stuck until she found field hockey.

GILROY—After being swept by Christopher last year, Gilroy wanted to prove its a completely different team.

Christopher High’s swim teams swept meets at Gilroy High on Friday, with the Cougars’ boys defeating the rival Mustangs 135-5 and the Cougars’ girls winning 93-76.

As a junior, Anna Brolin knows how to leave a mark. The Gilroy swimmer placed twice during Saturday’s Central Coast Section championship meet to help lift the Mustangs to a 19th place finish on the girls side.

The Christopher field hockey team dropped a close contest at North Salinas Wednesday.

David Gonzalez had 14 points and Tommy Cox scored 12 to lead Gilroy High’s boys basketball team to a 59-50 Senior Night victory over visiting North Salinas on Wednesday night.
