Both Gilroy water polo teams made a splash on Tuesday.

Christopher's match with Pacific Grove was as close as it gets.

Gilroy coach Brian Boyd contributes the loss to Live Oak to three key plays: two bad snaps on third and short that were recovered, but forced the Mustangs to punt and a play where the ball took a funny bounce on an Acorns kickoff that Gilroy thought was going out of play, but was recovered by the hosts and returned for a touchdown.

The Christopher girls tennis team got its season off to a strong start, sweeping Live Oak 7-0 during its scrimmage Wednesday. 

Olivia Tabron is making her case for a Monterey Bay League First Team honor—and it's only Christopher's seventh game of the year.
