For the first time since 2011, the Gilroy boys basketball team got the better of Christopher, 52-41 Tuesday afternoon.

Fresh off an outstanding performance at a tough Mid Cal Tournament, the Gilroy wrestling team kept the good times rolling with a dominate win at the Overfelt Classic over the weekend.

The San Benito High wrestling team took all of the drama out of Wednesday night’s Monterey Bay League Gabilan Division match against visiting Christopher. The Haybalers won nine of the first 14 individual weight classes en route to a 51-18 victory.

Adam Mena was winning big in his championship 170-pound match, but was doing all he could to hang on.

The Christopher boys soccer team completely dominated Monte Vista Christian, winning 7-0 Tuesday night.

Friday’s girls soccer game between Christopher and Everett Alvarez was a long winded battle that ended in a victory for Alvarez, 2-0. 

Christopher got out to a choppy start against San Benito, but the defense hung in there and quickly turned into a game that the Cougars controlled.
