GILROY—The Christopher tennis team’s newer players got a chance to show off their skills Thursday against Pajaro Valley, and they rose to the occasion.

GILROY—The Cougars have been dealt several inconsistencies this season. The loss of their head coach, injuries to standout players and the struggles of playing in the Gabilan Division have thrown a wrench in their year, but at least one thing has stayed the same. The Severance Bell is still theirs.

GILROY—Tonight, football will both unite Gilroy and divide it. Gilroyans will have to pick a side as the Mustangs and Cougars clash in the 6th annual Severance Bowl game, held at Christopher High School for the first time.
Prep Volleyball: North Salinas tops Gilroy 3-0
No matter what Gilroy did, it just couldn’t shake off the Vikings. The Mustangs held sizable leads in the first two sets of Thursday night’s contest, but North Salinas came back both times to win in straight sets 26-24, 25-23, 25-18 at Gilroy High.

GILROY—The Cougars have been chasing a win in the Montery Bay League-Gabilan Division all season. On Tuesday, they finally got one.
Prep Golf: Gilroy edges Cougars in crosstown match
GILROY—If it weren’t for their uniforms, it would be hard to tell the players from Gilroy and Christopher High schools apart. The Cougars and Mustangs interacted like teammates during their Thursday match at Gavilan College. To them, it was just like playing a round with friends.
Prep Volleyball: Balers sweep Cougars
GILROY—Christopher’s slow start led to a quick sweep as it fell 10-25, 15-25, 17-25 to San Benito Thursday at home.

BELMONT—Gilroy High made its presence known amongst a crowd of more than 250 runners at Saturday’s Crystal Springs Invitational in Belmont.
