Prep Field Hockey: Cougars make early exit from CCS

SARATOGA—Before the season, Christopher wasn’t sure how things would pan out. It had lost 12 players to graduation, but had a slew of young talent eager to learn the game. The question marks quickly started to fade as the Cougars came together and picked up lopsided wins all season long, ultimately leading to their third Central Coast Section appearance in three years.

Prep Roundup: Oct. 11

Santa Catalina had 35 straight wins heading into Thursday's contest against Christopher, but the Cougars put an end to that.  The Christopher girls golf team topped Santa Catalina 257-265 Thursday at Gilroy Golf Course.  Natalie Gutierrez scored at 47 to lead the Cougars against S.C. Julie Santiago shot a 52, Kylie Kuwada a 52, Nina Velez a 53, Alex Granados a 54 and Mia Navarro a 62. Navarro drove No. 17 green to get her first official birdie.  S.C.'s Chloe Corriveau was the medalist, shooting a 38.   CROSS COUNTRY
